About this product

Product Information

The gripping story of a deep space search and rescue mission to recover the last remaining survivor of an abandoned medical ship. The six member crew of the Nightingale 229 (including Spader, Bassett, and Forster) answer the mysterious man's (Facinelli) desperate plea for help, but when they collect him, they discover that their problems have compounded. In addition to sensing evil powers within the alien artifact he's brought with him, it appears that a nearby star is about to explode, taking the Nightingale with it. The race is on for survival in this atmospheric action-thriller.

    I was not informed that the subtitles (2 languages) don't include English. I've seen this movie before so that wasn't a deal breaker, but i enjoy having the ability to see captions, and in English if captions are available. I bought this movie at a great pricem, I'm saying it wasn't a perfect fit for ME but I'm satisfied with my purchase.

    Supernova (DVD, 2000, R-Rated Version)

    I saw the entire movie for once, late at night, I discovered myself immersed in a scary, haunting outer space, sci-fi movie that avoided the usual stereotypical traps and attempted to play it straight, somewhat like "Alien" (1979) though not with as much perfection and authenticity. I really enjoyed the twist towards the end. The beginning was both ordinary and intriguing. The storyline, somewhat like "The Sphere" (1998) in outer space, was decent enough and James Spader actually did a remarkable job with his character. He avoided the general likable character with charisma and popular appeal and actually played one of the most straightest of characters in recent memory, though some would consider his character boring and flat.     Angry all the time in space
