  • Good full featured Intel P45 board

I bought this to replace my dead P5QL Pro after two years of hard use. It was a little bit of an upgrade going from P43 to the P45 because now I had Cross-Fire capability. Some cool features like Turbo Boost, I haven't been able to try it out, but it aught to work perfect with my QX6850 that I installed on it. It uses a VIA sound chipset that surprising delivers great sound. Supports up to 16GB memory, so even though the technology is a couple years old now, it still has a bit of life still left in it. Runs well and stable right out of the box with Windows 7, which is important. All drivers are already included in Windows 7. I think it's a bit overpriced at over $100, but still worth the money.

  • Asus is simply the best name in Motherboards for builders and overclockers!

I go back into the late 90's with Asus as they were the company after Intel I chose to build computers with. I have been building computers for over 20 years and have chosen their x48, x58 over even the newer chipsets as they were built so well. My first choice is the Striker II Extreme with its Nvidia 790i Ultra chipset which is simply unbeatable in its class for overclocking. I was actually looking for a x48 Intel Board when I ran across this newer p45 Intel board. I was delighted when I found out it runs my qx9775 best in series quad core lga 771 modded to fit the lga 775 series. All I can say is don't hesitate buying one of these as they approach the capabilities of the Striker II Extreme and overclock well! Thanks Asus for all the years of fun.....mike

  • ASUS P5Q PRO TURBO Intel P45 Motherboard LGA 775

Yes, this is an old motherboard, but I love these. Update BIOS and put in a Q9650 or 9700 core2 quad CPU and it makes a great Linux machine, or even WIN 10, if you manage to let go of win 7. Yes it is older tech, but it is a great motherboard, the P5Q

  • pros + cons

I bought this 775 asus p6q pro turbo, because it had great reviews, and I wanted to switch from AMD to INTEL 775, because the 775 processors have a higher level-2 cache, providing more efficiency and speed in getting multitasking complete, reliable usage, longevity, and overall good performance compared to amd, the only draw back is no floppy but an external or super-ide-floppy can be installed with a pci-card overall good running reliable board,
