"Succeeds magnificently in evoking a global art history...presented in a way that only a physical book could accommodate: eye-filling reproductions in a stylish package of more than five hundred pages, nicely bound...will delight the casual page flipper but it will also entrance art-book aficionados...consistently evokes illuminating connections and gives readers room to discover them" ~ Bookforum

The item was perfectly described. Shipping was great in spite of the USPS sending the package through more cities than a foreign tourist on vacation. But back to the seller. Communications and service were great. And having an unusual item at a great price, we'll I'm a happy camper. I'll be back for more.

  • Wonderful

It's certainly impossible to put all the great art of the Western world in one book, but this collection does an outstanding job of the next best thing simply because of the discriminating choices on what to include. The reproductions are lovely and each piece exemplifies the best work of the artists represented. As someone who loves to take inspiration from the great painters of yore, to be able to turn the pages from one century to the next and get a feeling for the dialog and the flow from one set of masters to the next is wonderful.
