    Great show, worth watching

    The show is excellent. Well written, well acted and engaging. Makes me think of Masterpiece Theatre in terms of quality. The only downside is the video quality. Frequently too dark or color saturated when compared with other programming.

    Great series, but DVDs were defective!

    An absolutely wonderful series, but some of the DVDs in the brand-new, factory-sealed set were defective, so that they would freeze up with about three minutes left in the last episode on each one. Wouldn't work in either my DVD player or my computer, so the problem is definitely the DVDs. Incredibly frustrating!

    Outstanding portrayal of the challenge to make good choices in war time when you don't know where your choices/decisions will lead you and sometimes there are no good choices, only expedient ones with unknown ramifications.

    Reconnect with your high school French?

    Bought this because watching the series totally rejuvenated my college French! Lol. It is well filmed and accurate of the times portrayed as well. The characters aren't (necessarily) beautiful well-kmown actors, but come off as beautiful, somewhat symbolic, real people who portray their characters well.

    Excellent tv show

    Set during the German occupation of France in WWII. The citizens of a small town must cope with many difficulties, fall in love, and still remain decent human beings. Costumes, vehicles, etc are all historically correct. Excellent acting and script. We are spellbound.
