Advent Rising is a sci-fi shooter with a storyline penned by author Orson Scott Card, whose video game credits include The Dig and the Monkey Island series of adventure games. Advent Rising tells the story of a supposedly peaceful race called the Seekers. The setting takes place in a universe where planets have banded together to shape future policy and promote goodwill throughout the galaxy. It is a universe where members of an intergalactic council have appointed the Seekers as overseers in the development of new civilizations before these planets are permitted to join the esteemed council. Yet the Seekers are not as diplomatic as they seem. Another species has learned of a sinister plot by the Seekers to eliminate the human race. <br><br>A small band of human freedom fighters, led by a man named Gideon Wyeth, plans to stop this form of genocide at all costs. Players assume the role of Gideon while exploring the 3D worlds from a third-person perspective. Advent Rising offers a variety of weapons with which to thwart the armies of Seekers, and players will also be able to commandeer vehicles and channel special mind powers for protection as well as offense. The first of a planned trilogy of titles, Advent Rising uses Epic Games' Unreal technology to create the worlds in which players must battle. Orson Scott Card has also written a companion novel to expand upon the ideas found in the game, which can be purchased at the time of Advent Rising's release.

Sorry for the delay, folks! The DS system that I ordered from another seller failed to show up, but luckily, my folks had brought over my old 3DS system. So, today, I was able to test it out. Came with everything that was advertised. So props to the seller for his/her honest business conduct. I had already ordered this game way back in 2017, through a friend. But they had thrown away the jewel box. Naturally, I wanted it. So, after a long time coming, I was finally able to get the whole set.

    Great story & concept. less so with graphics

    Advent Rising was a game I rented years ago, and I loved it. It has one of the best story lines of any game I've ever played (make sure you continue playing after the credits for surprise ending). It had twists and turns throughout the story line that will give the (intelligent) player a real Halo style "Whoa! No Way!" feeling. It has long in depth cutscenes that make Advent Rising almost as much of a movie as it is a game. The problem is that as much time and effort that was spent on story and concept was not spent on graphics and gameplay. The art is very stylized, and you'll run into a lot of glitches throughout.     Good 24 hours of interesting gameplay.

    Story 5/5 | Gameplay 5/5 | Sound 3/5 | Graphics 4/5 When I first saw this game, I thought,"Mega halo ripoff. Not to mention fake $1 million giveaway." However, this game brought something else to the table that I haven't seen in a while (see 1st pro). Pr0s -Can max out super power to highest level immediately after receiving them. -Compelling story, written by Orson Scott Card -switches from shooting, riding vehicles, and running sequences. C0ns -Linear level design. -Feels like developers rushed a little (graphics wise). -Sounds could have been better, more distinct. Overall While playing this game, I never tired of it and went on to play something else. This game is a definite buy.

    Advent Rising-Xbox

    Excelent Game, Excelent Storyline. Music is a A++. Honestly the game is short, you will beat it in a few games. But the gameplay is so good you will end up going through it a few more, and later a few more times. The storyline is a scifi masterpiece that not a lot of people know about. The controle style is partialy new but works out great in my opinion. I rented the game three diffrent times from Blockbuster before I finaly broke down and bought it because I knew that one day it wouldn't be around anymore. If you like rpg's or the first person shooter type games or even if you don't id say at least try it. The experience makes you just want more and your hooked.

    Like this game guns and aliens pretty cool if you like rpg

    Like this product its exactly like described by owner. Rpg fun to run with guns killing alien people trying to kill all humanity. Kinda confusing to drive the vehicles but easy enough to learn. Friend said a kinda Halo feeling. Don't play for too long periods of time or you might lose interest a bit.
