    Have watched all versions of Jane Eyre and this is my favorite.

    I have watched numerous versions of Jane Eyre. This is my favorite. The acting is top notch. Orson Welles and Jane Fontaine had great chemistry and brought Charlotte Bronte's book to life. Margaret O'Brien was brilliant as the waif. The other child actresses I have seen playing this role came off as spoiled and abrasive. Margaret made your heart melt. Well worth the price.

    Welles and Fontaine are Truly Great!

    Jane Eyre has been made and remade many times, but no one has come close to Orson Welles' portrayal of the dark, brooding hero. And Fontaine is perfect. The mysterious setting is compelling and the movie is almost as fine as those directed by Welles himself. (Perhaps he had a hand in this one?) And he is at his most handsome. If you haven't seen this, you've not seen Jane Eyre!

    Jane Eyre is a wonderful story, and this version with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine is the best version.

    This DVD arrived quickly and in great condition. I love this movie "Jane Eyre" and have seen it countless times. It is a wonderful gothic mystery romance. I read the book and the movie is true to it. Now I can enjoy it many more times on the DVD.

    Tragedy and triumph!

    Great cast does its stuff in this classic tale

    Orson Welles, Joan Fontaine and all those in support turn in memorable performances in this rendition of JANE EYRE. Peggy Ann Garner shines in her portrayal of Eyre as a child, and look for a young Elizabeth Taylor in an uncredited role as a fellow inhabitant of the Lowood Institution, a boarding facility for young girls.
