    Great book for a brother- or sister-to-be

    I read this book to my son when I was expecting my second child 30 years ago. I recently bought it for my expectant niece who has a toddler in order to help him understand that life will be changing for him when the new baby arrives, and that it is okay. My grandnephew loves this book. He asks that the "bear-bear book" be read to him.

    New Baby - The Berenstain Bears - First Time Book

    We get to visit Papa, Mama and Small Bear in their home in this Berenstain story book. The Bears home is described in this book showing what a wonderful home the bears live in. We get a better glimpse of how this well know Bear Family lives. The Bear Family goes about their daily life of swimming, fishing and canoeing but one day Papa bear goes and gets his ax and is going to make small bear a new bed. Why? Well you guessed it a new baby is coming to the Bear Family. What a wonderful story to get your little one to expect a new baby in your home.

    Fun read!

    Nice to have this available for another generation! My boys, now in their 40's had it memorized by the time their younger siblings were born! I think I could still recite it! A nice gift for a little one who is going to be a big brother,or change the words as you read it for the big sister!

    Cute story and great introduction for a big brother to his new little sis!

    Love this book - not only is it a great transition for our own "Big Brother" from his little crib to his big boy bed but it describes how "Mama" is getting rounder and harder to sit on her lap. Our little guy can't wait to meet his little sister!
