Da Menschen und Natur in st ndiger Wechselwirkung stehen, da Geschichte in ihnen entsteht und doch in eigenst ndigen, unbeeinflu baren Bahnen l uft - eben wie ein Flu , der letztlich doch sein eigenes Ziel ins Meer sucht - dies ist Inhalt dieser Arbeit. Man kann Elias' Werke in drei Teile gliedern. Die Zivilisationstheorie, die sich auf die Wechselwirkung von Soziogenese und Psychogenese konzentriert, zweitens die Proze - und Figurationstheorie, welche Bestandteil meiner Arbeit ist. Letztens ist dann noch die Wissens- und Wissenschaftstheorie zu nennen. Zuerst m ssen einige anthropologischen Grundannahmen dargelegt werden. Sie sind insofern wichtig, als sie das grundlegende Menschenbild des Autors erkl ren, auf dem Theorien der Sozialwissenschaft aufbauen. Daran anschlie en mu die Forschungsmethodik und die erkenntnistheoretischen Paradigmen, um darzulegen, von wo Elias in seiner Denkweise beginnt, wie er Gesellschaft sieht und mit welchen Werkzeugen er forscht.
