And get everything in between out of your electric guitar or electric-acoustic hybrid guitar with this indispensable audio gear.The easy-to-use four control knobs on these Grunge pedals allow you to make quick changes to your sound on the fly. This unit eschews the standard single knob and uses these multiple knobs to control all the variations in tone. This gives you both low and high EQ knobs for maximum control of the tone. The low knob adjusts the cut and boost of the bass frequencies. The high knob controls the cut and boost of the treble frequencies. The loud knob controls the level of distortion output from your guitar signal. The grunge knob controls the level of distortion gain, ranging from moderate to extreme sound.Plug the guitar into the input jack and plug the amplifier into the out 1 jack. Then this guitar effects pedal gives a choice between two outputs. There's an amp output (out 1) that goes directly to your amplifier. There's also a mixer output (out 2) that features a special built-in cabinet emulator. Use it to send the signal to a mixing console or recording device. You can also use it to beef up your amplifier's tone.Hit this guitar pedal to sustain or distort. You can also add low or high boost and cut outputs. You can do this with electric guitars, acoustic guitars with electric pickups, or even a bass guitar. It's also compatible with electronic keyboards and digital synthesizers. All this distortion power is packed into a sturdy metal chassis made to be rugged for taking on the road. However, it's still lightweight, too, weighing in at only 1.38 pounds. The surface of the unit also sports a textured design befitting a Grunge distortion pedal.With up to 18 hours of continuous battery, the Grunge sound pedals are ready for action at every gig. That's made possible by its 9-volt alkaline dry battery power supply. The unit also has an AC adapter jack to attach to a DigiTech PS200R power supply (sold separately). The pedal fits neatly into the battery compartment. It's held secure by two spring loaded hinges that serve as pedal release pins.

    Real Grunge

    First things First.. This is a great and unique pedal. So many of these distortion boxes use the same chip and are virtually the same. This is true to the original DOD (loud, butt, face, grunge) version. That makes it and uniquely sounding and gives you more drive, saturation and signal or wave length shaping than a lot of the other boxes. I disagree with people who think this is more of a "Metal" box. Don't get me wrong it will work for "Metal" however if you adjust it correctly it sounds just like the early Seattle movement. Grunge today has taken more of a "Blues/Fuzz" sound than when Nirvana and Alice-n-Chains started. This will give you that original tone including Sound Garden and the likes. If you are looking for fluidity and don't mind the dirt this will work well for you. Today ...

    more faux metal than grunge .

    i had one of these when i first started playing. i thought it sounded great back in the 90's . it still sounds o.k. but it could use more pick attack,and the highs are way too harsh and when you turn up the lows it cancells out a lot of the highs,so you have too compensate for that. it is best with really high gain pickups like a super distortion,then you get some decent pick attack,otherwise it is pretty hard clipping. i'd give it a 6 out of 10.

    For metal, not Nirvana. Heavy-mid-range sound, heavy distortion.

    Despite the name, this is an excellent pedal for Metal. Don't expect a Nirvana sound from this. It's got a heavy mid-range focused sound, perfect for all your pinch harmonics and heavy chugging. The Loud knob is for Level, and it packs a LOT of volume. The Low and High knobs are bass and treble, and while they add some, they can't really cover up the heavy mid-range. The High knob can really be piercing, so use with caution. The Grunge knob goes from heavy distortion to really heavy distortion - there's not a whole lot of range. In spite of this, I like the distortion sound. I just didn't like the heavy mid-range, so I swapped out two capacitors and got rid of that heavy mid-range and it's become a more full-range sounding heavy distortion, more towards a rectifier-type distortion.     Sounds great when run through a decent amp

    Replaced the 1st distortion pedal I ever had and I was surprised by how it sounded. I remember it sounding awful as a kid.....but it was definitely my amp. My little beat-up Crate 15 watt from 2004 sounded like garbage, the pedal actually sounds amazing coming out of my Marshall tube amp, or my Orange 15 watt. Great dirt box for the price!

    Worth trying for sure !

    It can give you some decent tones when tweaked. Passed up these in 90s as a gimmick item but it's a viable pedal and I'm happy I checked it out.
