Notes
New York City is where guitarist and singer/songwriter Peter Malick first discovered the then little known 21-year old female sensation Norah Jones, at a club on New York's Lower East Side. Together Malick and Jones recorded 6 tracks before she signed to Blue Note Records and later becoming one of the biggest music sensation in America. Peter Malick's NEW YORK CITY features these 6 recordings plus 4 new compositions. Described by Malick as "the intersection where B.B. King meets Lou Reed."

    nice music, beautiful sound

I really enjoy Nora Jones, her type of music I think is special in some ways, like "Tell your mama" and "Man of the hour." This particular album has a lot of great music.

  • Norah Jones and the Blues

The only way this cd could be any better is if it had 6 to 8 more tracks on the cd. Norah Jones is just great.

  • Norah Jones and New York City: Both First Class!

i have always loved Norah Jones soft, sensuous style with a voice like smoke and honey. Her lyrics always meaningful, her choice of words simple yet profound. My favorite song in the CD is, of course, New York City. I have been to NYC 3 times and loved it very much. i don't know what she is trying to communicate but i think it is about a brokenhearted young woman who committed suicide. i don't know how this fits in to the whole idea of NYC. Someone explain to me, please? But overall, the mood of the song very somber and mellow and she delivers yet another extraordinary, profound and unique work of art. We all love, Norah Jones! The whole CD rocks!

  • Norah Jones gets another base hit effortlessly.

If you like Norah Jones you will also like this collection. She continues her jazzy/blues style for an easy listening, well played collection of songs.

  • Good Music

Great album, Nora Jones can make any band sound good, not that there’s anything wrong with this band.
