In addition to being a recovered alcoholic, Dick B. has been an ardent Bible student, especially for the last 22 years of his recovery. It was always his objective to learn the Biblical roots of A.A. of which A.A. Cofounder Dr. Bob spoke so often. Dick wanted to locate and define those roots. And, after many years of digging, he was able to write this first of several books on A.A.'s roots in the Bible, the Book of James, the Sermon on the Mount, and 1 Corinthians 13.     Excellent reading for those intrested in the success of earrly AA's.

    Great book...AA's success rate was 75% and most say higher than that back when AA was first founded in the 1930's by Dr. Bob and Bill W..They regularly used the Bible, a lot of the reading was done out of the book of James and Corinthians. Now AA has all but banned the Bible or the mention of Jesus Christ. Its obvious, as the success rate now is less than 10% for the average person coming in off the street. Dick B. a long time member of AA has done a wonderful and thorough job. There is so much historical, non-refutable evidence one must see that without the one true God as the backbone of recovery, there really is no recovery.

    The Good Book and the Big Book

    This book was an easy read, yet very detailed in its documentation. It helped me see the harmony between the Bible and the book Alcoholics Anonymous, and realize that it was supposed to be that way. I gained much from having read it. I now hope to read materials from Dick B.
