    This book may be a legend in a few years. It is a story of a North Carolina now who was raised in the shadow of the Biltmore Estate and experienced living the good life until his father lost his position as manager of a furniture manufacturing plant until the Great Depression forced him and many others into un-employment. He would soon experience the sting of near poverty and he learned how how less fortunate families lived. He quickly learned to adapt to his new challenges and learned to fly airplanes for the US Army (Air Corps). He would eventually lead his crew to becoming the first crew to achieve twenty-five missions in the North Atlantic. His crew flew missions over France and Germany and a little island called Helgoland, a little island made known as the site of the crash and ...
