this KitchenAid is working well for large quantities. somewhat circumstantial with removing the bowl and putting it back on the stand and using this up and down handle. I bought it for making bread dough and I'm pleased so far with the outcome of the bread. for smaller recipes I still like to use the regular size stand mixer. if this buy is a good value for money spent I will find out when time has passed. my first KitchenAid I had in use for 25 years without any problems.this KitchenAid is working well for large quantities. somewhat circumstantial with removing the bowl and putting it back on the stand and using this up and down handle. Don't build them like they used to....
Waited a month, finally arrived. Said it could mix 6 loaves worth of bread dough, tried it with 4 loaves - it emitted a strong electrical burning smell (had to open kit window) and just quit after 5 minutes. (Hook was correctly inserted, dough is standard artesian bread dough) Had to hand -knead the dough. Either the motor isn't strong enough, or there's something wrong. Tried twice to call KitAid - waited on hold for 30 min each time, then gave up. KitchenAid used to be a well respected brand. Not so much any more, I guess.Waited a month, finally arrived. I love this machine!
I got this kitchenaid 600 to take over the jobs that were too much for my classic model. I've been making all of our bread for several months and my little classic was struggling with the stiff dough. It also couldn't contain the dough for two loaves with its smaller bowl. That little workhorse has served me well for over 10 years, but she just can't handle the bigger tasks. So I purchased the 600 and it's made a huge difference. This machine kneads the dough much more thoroughly and efficiently. Breads that were good before are fantastic now! She powers through the kneading process without straining and the dough stays in the bowl instead of climbing the hook and making a mess. I was a little concerned about the noise factor as some of the reviews I read had complained about that, but I ... It's a stand mixer so it's going to make some noise after all. While I still love my little classic, I love her new big sister too! The spiral dough hook is a much more efficient design for kneading. It also comes with the standard paddle and whisk attachments which also work as expected. The 6 quart capacity and larger motor mean this mixer is equipped to handle the bigger batches of whatever I throw at it. Cookie dough, mashed potatoes, meatball mix, cake batter and, of course, bread dough have all come out great. I'm so glad I made this purchase!

Works well, easy to use. Noisy when kneading bread & pizza dough.
Two weeks in and we love our Kitchen-Aid Pro 600 Series 6qt Stand Mixer. (If anything changes, we will come back and update or post a new review.) We purchased this mixer to use for mixing/kneading bread & pizza dough during the Covid19 quarantine and it works like a charm. The only negative is how noisy the machine becomes when it's under a load (kneading dough) the noise (gears whining+electric motor) would have been concerning if we had not researched and understood this would be the case. Consumer Reports warned of the noisiness and indicated that the 5qt Stand Mixer is a quieter option. We only make bread/pizza dough a few times each week limiting the amount of time the machine runs and are able to tolerate the noise, which we considered an acceptable trade off for the additional ... It looks like a KitchenAid.
The mixer came in a white "refurbished" box with Kitchen Aid on the outside. It looks and runs like the "non-refurbished" one that we currently have. Hopefully, what ever was wrong with it has been fixed and our cousins will have years of enjoyment using their Kitchen Aid.
