Diese Auseinandersetzung mit dem System findet im ersten Teil der Arbeit statt und soll einen eher sachlichen statt bewertenden Charakter tragen. Aus der Situationsschilderung ergibt sich die Frage nach der Wahrnehmung der staatlichen Obrigkeit durch das Volk, welches einen Schwerpunkt im zweiten Sinnabschnitt der Arbeit bildet. Der propagierte Sozialismus soll der erlebten Wirklichkeit gegen bergestellt werden und einen Einblick geben, in welchem Ma e der Staat das allt gliche Leben beeinflusst hat und bis in die heutige Zeit pr gte. Letztlich ist es n tig, Theorie und Praxis der DDR-Geschichte im Kontext gegenw rtiger Totalitarismusforschung zu betrachten, um den totalit ren Charakter der Diktatur nach ausgew hlten, wissenschaftlichen Kriterien bewerten zu k nnen. Dabei ist zu erw hnen, dass die Debatte der Totalitarismuskritik bez glich der DDR schon seit ihren Anf ngen gef hrt wird, bis heute jedoch kein einheitliches Ergebnis hervorbringen konnte. Diese Arbeit st tzt sich daher auf den klassischen Totalitarismusansatz von Hannah Arendt - der Verbindung von Ideologie und Terror. Erst die Vervollst ndigung um diese Fakten und Einordnung macht einen abschlie enden, wertenden Versuch der Beantwortung der leitenden Fragestellung im letzten Teil der Arbeit m glich und verhindert eine einseitige Darstellung dieser immer noch sensiblen Thematik.
