Capcom's long-running action series transports its gothic themes to an alternate reality where contemporary issues such as terrorism and financial malfeasance confront a more youthful and conflicted version of the series' primary protagonist Dante. DmC Devil May Cry is set in the city of Limbo, where players can once again dispatch demons through a mix of explosive shooting and visceral hack-and-slash combat. As the spawn of an angel and a demon, Dante is also in a state of limbo, and gamers can modify attacks at any time by engaging his special angelic or demonic abilities.<br><br>Developed by Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword, Enslaved), DmC was designed to offer higher production values and a more involved narrative than previous entries, while still retaining the series' signature style and frenetic action. Players will learn more about the history of Dante, interact with familiar characters like Vergil and Mundus, and engage in classic combat that earns souls for use in upgrading health, items, and skills, and gives bonuses for particularly stylish combos.

    Best Game Ever!

    DmC: Devil May Cry is a reboot done right. The way they've changed Dante and revisited events is handled perfectly, so hardcore fans and newcomers alike should enjoy it. The stylish action, platforming, visuals, story and voice acting make for an experience that can be summed up as "flawless epic action" If you feel like something is missing in the video game world, DmC will take away that feeling.

    A marvelous reboot that should not be passed up!

    This game is very enjoyable and the gameplay never has a dull moment. The controls are very responsive and the 'build your own' combo aspect makes every play through unique. The level designs are a new creative approach to the series and are just plain awesome. The only take away I would say are the few moments during cutscenes when the frame rate drops and the story is quite short. There is however bonus content and the game has high replay value. DmC Devil May Cry is a must play title. Ignore the 4/5. I'd give it a 9/10.

    A passable action game with the baggage of being a Devil May Cry game.

    A passable action game with the unfortunate baggage of carrying the brand name that is synonymous with well designed, super fast, slick, action. The game's controls are pretty convoluted but (hey they do work), bosses are the low point of the game, platforming is repetitive, story is disgusting, and later portions of the game the combat becomes too predictable and tedious. The game certainly isn't Devil May Cry but the early mission do provide some fun once you get past the fact that the game isn't DMC3 or 4. It's hard to recommend this game.

    Underrated

    This is easily the best entry in the DMC series! Good soundtrack, good renaissance asthetic in the levels, and a very friendly combat system that does a good job of show you the moves and all their pros and cons to have you mastering combos by the ending; making you feel like you weren't babied by tutorials or dropped into the middle of the ocean and forced to swim.
