About this product

Product Information

The first novel in the captivating Brides Trilogy, in which three unconventional young women vow they will never marry--only to be overtaken by destiny. Bride #1 is the outspoken Portia. . . . It's bad enough that seventeen-year-old Portia Worth is taken in by her uncle, the marquis of Granville, after her father dies. As the bastard niece, Portia knows she can expect little beyond a roof over her head and a place at the table. But it truly adds insult to injury when the Granvilles' archenemy, the outlaw Rufus Decatur, hatches a scheme to abduct the marquis's daughter--only to kidnap Portia by accident. Portia, who possesses more than a streak of independence as well as a talent for resistance, does not take kindly to being abducted--mistakenly or otherwise. Decatur will soon find himself facing the challenge of his life, both on the battlefield and in the bedroom, as he contends with this misfit of a girl who has the audacity to believe herself the equal of any man. . . . Don't miss the other novels in Jane Feather's captivating Brides Trilogy: THE HOSTAGE BRIDE THE ACCIDENTAL BRIDE THE LEAST LIKELY BRIDE

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Feather Weaves Fact and Fiction Very Well!

This book is the start of a new series by Jane Feather (see list at the end). The trio of stories is about three awkward girls who sign a pact to never marry - but do something extraordinary with their lives. The 3 misfits are named: Portia, Phoebe and Olivia. Although all 3 appear in this book, this is really Portia's story. The year is 1643 and Civil War is on the horizon of England and Scotland. Feather does a good job of weaving fiction with real events in British history. I won't go into detail about the plot but will give some of my impressions. Portia is about 17 and the hero (Rufus Decatur) is in his mid-thirties! I felt the age difference was very significant. Portia's goal, in the preface, was to be a soldier. It stretched credulity that she was good enough to fight ...
