About this product

Product Information

The characters in these four expansive stories are a departure from the blue-collar denizens that populate so many of Richard Russo's novels; and all are bound together by parallel moments of reckoning with their pasts. In "Horseman," a young professor confronts an undergraduate plagiarist--as well as her own regrets. In "Intervention," a realtor facing a serious medical prognosis finds himself in his late father's shadow. "Voice" gives us a semiretired academic who is conned by his estranged brother into joining a group tour of the Venice Biennale. And "Milton and Marcus" takes us into a lapsed novelist's attempt to rekindle his screenwriting career--a career that depends wholly, at a crucial moment, on two Hollywood icons (one living, one dead). Shot through with Russo's inimitable humor, wisdom, and surprise, Trajectory is the work of a masterful writer continuing to discover new heights.

Reviews
"Thoughtful, soulful . . . It will abruptly break your heart. That's what Richard Russo does, without pretension or fuss, time and time again."--Jennifer Senior, The New York Times "[ Trajectory is] so rich and flavorsome that the temptation is to devour it all at once. I can't in good conscience advise otherwise."--Laura Collins-Hughes, The Boston Globe "Russo develops these stories with smooth assurance, allowing readers to discover layers of meaning in his perfectly calibrated narration."-- Publishers Weekly "Russo rarely wastes a word, interweaving details and dialogue into master classes on storytelling." -- Kirkus Reviews (starred) "Russo's [characters] are sharply in view, and like opera singers performing quintets or sestets, they are all vital contributors. Equally significantly, their problems spring from their personalities, and the resolutions are heart-warming because they do indeed feel like real possibilities. . . . All four stories are challenging because they raise questions about why we live our lives the way we do, and if that's all right."--Claire Hopley, The Washington Times "Russo has fashioned tales compact enough to make an immediate impression (and to read in a single sitting), but rich [in] believable characters, graceful plotting and pointed dialogue."--Peter Tonguette, The Columbus Dispatch "Entertaining and compellingly provocative. . . . vibrant narratives with distinctive characters."--Robert Allen Papinchak, New York Journal of Books

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
