I like the product for the Widescreen viewing. To Pan & Scan this (or any film) is JUST PLAIN WRONG! The film 'Annie' was re-released with 5.1 surround dolby digital & DTS, but only in Pan/Scan format in America (or DVD region 1). Yet they let Europe have a Widescreen DTS 5.1. What's up with that? Not only are we sending our jobs over seas, lets give them the good copies of OUR movies too!? In any event, the older, out of print, release of 'Annie' in 2.0 surround was suprisingly of great picture & sound quality. It really deserves an Excellent review... if I didn't know better ones are out there... for some other region to enjoy.I like the product for the Widescreen viewing. Perfect for Family Night!
I remember this movie from when I was a kid. Loved it so much my mom got me the soundtrack for Christmas, which I wore out! The cast is great! Carol Burnett and Tim Curry are deliciously evil as brother and sister trying to scam Annie's benefactor, Daddy Warbucks - played by the great Albert Finney. The rest of the cast includes Bernadette Peters, Ann Reinking and Aileen Quinn as Annie. The music is fun and will have you singing and dancing long after you finish watching the movie. Annie - The Musical on DVD
I bought this dvd for my five year old granddaughter for her birthday. I want her to love musicals the way her grandmother and I do. Annie is a great musical for both children and adults. The songs are wonderful, catchy and fun. The movie has a wonderful upbeat message. It is bright and cheerful. It is just a great musical!
