    Can't believe I never read this!

    I must admit that I missed out on a lot of classic science fiction. I read voraciously as a kid and missed Asimov completely. Got much more into reading fantasy. Recently I read a review that called the Foundation series the best series of all time, edging Lord of the Rings, my all time favorite books. That being the case, I went into reading this with some thought to debunk that notion. Fortunately for me, though my love for LOTR has not faded in the slightest, I am amazed and impressed with how good this book was. I have never heard anything bad about Asimov, but this book really made me understand the awe that sci-fi fans hold him in. It was such a difference to most science fiction. The interstellar battles, spaceships, and lazer guns were all behind the scenes. The character drama ...
