If you didn't live through the actual time of this historical event, Ron Howard will make sure you feel it like you did. With a masterful cast and fabulous photography, this movie captures every element of suspense, joy and total exhaustion. It truely shows why the Astronauts were such special people and the life altering risks they took to pave the way for todays shuttle shots. It will re-estabalish your faith in NASA as a collection of the country's brightest and most creative engineers. This is not a movie for sitting down to watch and planning bathroom or snack breaks. Apollo 13 (2006, HD DVD) This is a try story whats happening with the flight with the Apollo 13, and have the right tens, as a real movie shall have. You gonna sitting in the sofa and forget all around you! This movie is one of the best Real-telling story I ever see at HD/DVD. The cast is Hollywoods absolute Best. This movie could´t be better, only in quality. Apollo 13 hd dvd
This is a must have dvd if you have hd. The sound alone is outstanding. The optics are also superb because of the hd format. As always I have always enjoyed Apollo 13... this is just another plus. I recommend it if you have a hd dvd player. Don't see much benefit by having blu-ray. My son-in-law has a blu-ray...can't really see the difference that constitutes the additional costs.

This movie is star and action packed. Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon deliver some of their finest performances in this movie. It is a movie not only about a space mission but about family and friendship as well. The realism sucks you into the story. You are there. It is an emotional ride, taking you from highs to lows. This is definitely a must see movie.

One Word - Outstanding
The blow-by-blow account of mankind's third attempt to land a man on the moon, as told from the prespective of the mission commander himself. The real-life characters of this event leap from the celluiod in a nonstop, action-packed, Hollywood blockbuster, and popularized the term, "Failure is Not an Option". It should be required viewing for every middle school student.
