A fantastic animation masterpiece!
From the creative team that brought you the "Ice Age" series, comes a fabulously funny and extraordinary movie event that the entire family can enjoy. "Robots" tells the story of a young upstart robot inventor named Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor), who wants to grow up to be like his role model Bigweld (Mel Brooks), the master inventor of Robot City. But, the evil Ratchet (Greg Kinnear) has taken control of the city, ordering all rusty robots to be swept up and taken to the chop shop of Madame Gasket (Jim Broadbent). Rodney eventually befriends a group of outcasts, led by a wacky robot named Fender (Robin Williams). This group also includes Fender's sister Piper Pinwheeler (Amanda Bynes), Crank Casey (Drew Carey), Lug (Harland Williams) and the proprietor of the boarding house, Aunt ... The detail depicted in this movie is brilliantly executed. The robots appearing on-screen are almost life-like. Once again, the production team at Blue Sky Studios have succeeded with a real winner of movie; one that the entire family can watch over and over again. "Robots" is good old-fashioned fun, showing the viewer a world where these metallic beings reside in a place that almost seems like a real metropolis.
