"It's a very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" has all the usual suspects: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fonzie, Animal, etc., plus David Arquette, Joan Cusack, Whoopi Goldberg,the voice of Mel Brooks and others, including cameos by the cast of "Scrubs." It is Christmas Eve and Kermit and the rest of the Muppet Theater owe quite a lot of money to Mrs. Bitterman, played by Joan Cusack. If they don't pay in full, she will reposses the theater. They put on a great show, make enough money, but Fonzie gets waylaid trying to get the money to her. He misses the deadline. How they resolve the problem with the help of devine intervention, and find out what Christmas and friends are all about, is what the rest of the film is all about. There are the usual Muppet antics, and the interaction between live ... To be honest, it isn't as good as many of the earlier ones, such as "Muppets from Space", or The Christmas Carol", but it still is pretty good. Miss Piggy does a nice impersonation of Madona's "Santa Baby" Christmas song. And we have a good scene with the old Theater Critics that adults will remember from the TV series. In addition, it has several entertaining special features. Inside Pepe's studio is a behind the scenes look at the making of the film. And there are some funny outakes/bloopers and deleted scenes that are pretty good as well. Rated PG ("for mild thematic elements"?!!), it is suitable for any age. Bottom line, if you are a fan of any previous Muppet movie, you are going to enjoy this one as well. In any case, the kids will like it.

A better title would be "Saving the the theatre during the holidays."
This is a spinoff from the old series about trying to save their variety show and its location. It is not a Christmas special though. It is entertaining and if you enjoyed the weekly variety show, you will like this.

Great movie for the kids! Yes, it is a Christmas movie. But it is one of those Christmas movies that you can watch all year long. Ashanti acted really well and her voice was beautiful as usual....and I love Queen Latifah in anything she does. This is just another movie I can watch over and over again with the kids!

Not geared for younger children.
Bought this for my 4 yr. old grandchild. There is a lot of adult humor, meaning that many of the jokes a 4 yr. old won't get, but adults will find humorous. A lot of the filming was supposedly at night (dark), and sometimes too much chaos. Wasn't too crazy about the story line either. It is a fun film overall if you like the Muppets.
