  • Great product for the money... but difficult to install for WiFi use.

This is the second Samsung ML-2525W I have purchased; this one for a friend. I bought it mainly because of its WiFi capability. This printer was an excellent value for the price I paid. It prints promptly and output is of high quality. My only complaint: Wireless set-up for a Windows 7 HP laptop has been a real "bear"... i.e. rather difficult. I worked for five hours one day, four hours another day, attempting to get it to connect to a WiFi... without success. I finally hard-wired it using a USB cable. My next step will be to download all current drivers, firmware and manuals from the Samsung support site, install them, and make another attempt to obtain a successful WiFi connection.

  • Great for Home Office Quick Printing

I bought this because I needed to print a lot of PDFs and didn't want to use my slower color inkjet printer. I had some trouble getting this to recognize my home wireless network, but once I reset it to factory defaults it worked beautifully. I like the speed, compact size, ease of use, and think it's a great addition to my home office. Only thing I wish it did was automatically duplex. Instructions on the manual duplex were worthless, and I had to experiment quite a bit before I figured out how to reload the paper and complete the 2-sided printing.

  • hard to setup, great value, well built.

Damn, damn good printer, BUT SETUP IS OVERLY COMPLEX Easiest way to setup this printer: 1.YOU NEED A CROSSOVER CABLE TO CONNECT FROM PC NIC TO PRINTER. 2. CONNECT THE USB CABLE AND THE CROSSOVER CABLE FROM PC TO PRINTER. TURN IT ON 3. INSTALL AND RUN THE IP setup software on the Samsung disc 4. DOUBLE CLICK THE PRINTER, SET IT'S IP TO 192.168.1.1XX 5. NOW SET A STATIC IP ON YOUR PC's ETH CARD TO 192.168.1.1YY 6. OPEN THE WEB SETUP AT 192.168.1.1XX, THEN YOU NEED TO LOGIN TO THE PRINTER'S WEB SETUP, setup the WIFI connection 7. REMOVE THE CROSSOVER CABLE, AND WAIT FOR THE BLUE WIFI LIGHT TO COME ON. 8. REBOOT THE PRINTER, MAKE SURE IT RE-CONNECTS, THIS STEP TOOK ME A FEW TIMES, IT TAKES A MINUTE TO RECONNECT THE WIFI AFTER REBOOT 9. REMOVE THE STATIC IP ON YOUR ETH 10. ADD THE PRINTER ...

  • Great but basic printer...Highly Reccomend...See for Setup help

Very nice b&w laser printer. Setup is tricky but overall not horrible. I do tech work for a living so it wasn't bad. Easiest way to hook it up wirelessly is to first hard wire it to your router, remote into it after finding out the IP address via remoting into your router and looking at the ip addresses of the devices, etc or if you know most of the others on your network and you want to do it a little more simply, use "arp -a" on the command line to get a list of IPs and MAC addresses on your network (without quotes obviously). Anyway, now that you are remoted into your printer, set a static IP for the printer on both the printer and then reserve that IP address on the router to prevent future problems of having to re-setup your router. Now, if you have Windows 7, you ...

  • Get it...It's great!

We bought this because we have the same one on another computer. This one is wireless. The other one isn't because my husband was convinced it wouldn't work..LOL..They both work great! It was easy to install on my Window 7 computer..I have to go to the Website and download drivers for my Windows Vista Laptop..that took a while but I learned a lot. The only thing I don't like is I can't figure out how to print from my iPad..I'm still working on it. Love the lazer and not having to buy ink all the time.
