About this product

Product Information

New York City is in total disarray. An electrical plasma grid has covered the city from top to bottom, causing buildings to erode and the people to panic. There are already reports of death from the extreme heat, and there is no telling what else will happen if the pulsating grid continues to grip the city. Meanwhile, deep within his fortress, the enemy known as HYDRA laughs uncontrollably. The electrical plasma grid is his devious invention, and there is no one to stop his diabolical plans to control the largest city in the United States. Is there no hope?

The Amazing Spider-Man: Web of Fire lets you play the role of Marvel Comics' famous superhero as you swing through six locations around the Big Apple. Spidey has the ability to crawl, punch, kick and jump, as well as tap into his special powers to scale walls, swing from buildings, and fire his webbing. Enemies you'll face include HYDRA's cybernetic agents, capable of firing lightning orbs, and Dreadnoughts, eight-foot tall armored soldiers with superhuman strength.

Spider-Man will also have to look out for various probes, rocket launchers and futuristic fish that can wear down his health. Once Spidey reaches the end of a level, he'll confront one of the Enforcers, mercenary warriors including Dragonman, Thermite, Blitz, Vanisher, Eel, Tangle and Super-Adaptoid who would like nothing more than to knock the spider-sense out of our friendly neighborhood hero.

Travel through the streets of New York, across the George Washington Bridge and deep within an Oil Wasteland and Power Plant before your final assault on the HYDRA Airship and Fortress. If things prove too difficult, Spider-Man can call upon his ally Daredevil, but only after rescuing him in each level. When needed, Daredevil will drop a club to give your foes a good wallop. Keep up the fight until you save New York City.

  • If your a serious collector...its a no brainer

It goes without saying that Spider-Man Web of Fire is an INCREDIBLY RARE game, the very last North American game released on Sega's ill fated (but still decent, to me anyway) 32X. It's been reported that only 1,500 copies were made and while I personally dont believe it to be THAT low it's definitely in the low print run. Is it worth the usually asking price of $250+ for a complete copy of the game or the $100+ for just the cartridge? That totally depends on what kind of gamer/collector you are but I will say that while WOF isnt a fantastic game it is, none the less, a good one. Spider-Man WOF is a 2D platformer which has Spidey going up against infamous terrorist organization Hydra. Hydra has put up a huge laser web over NYC by way of generators scattered around NY and has hired The ...

  • Spider-Man Web of Fire, Rarest 32X Game

Web of Fire is the last US-released, and rarest, Sega 32X game. Only 1500 copies were ever made, making it much more rare the Panzer Dragoon Saga (30,000 copies), or even Sonic Adventure Limited Edtion (Rental-only 5000 copies for Hollywood video). The game itself falls under the usual cliche of sluggish controls and cheap gameplay, much like most comic book games of the era. Though it does feature some neat sprites that seem to use a little bit of the 32X add-on to its advantage. This game is desired simply because of its low 1500 copy production number. It definitely is now the rarest game in my collection. Should you ever have the chance to buy a copy, either complete, or just the cartridge, jump for it. If not you may not get the chance again.
