    Twice as Good!

This is my 2nd purchase of this "Outlander" offshoot (having read and given the first one away as a gift). I have been a fan of all things Outlander for 20+ years. This was the first "visual" rendition of Clare and Jamie (pre-Starz series of course), and is told from Jamie's point of view. It is great and you may want to buy two so you can give the 2nd one as a gift to any of your friends who are also Outlander fans.

A fun side twist for between novels

I had fun reading this. The artwork is rich and enjoyable. The paper and binding of the hardback that I bought were high quality. I did have a bit of difficulty telling the male characters apart and had to keep referring back to the beginning. Obviously, the story was simplified so you have to accept that if you are going to buy a GRAPHIC novel. Claire's 18th century clothes were a bit too simplified, however, I liked her dress from her initial trip through the stones better in this book than in the TV show. Overall, I recommend this book for people who already love the books and bring their sense of playfulness to the read. I think it is a pleasurable addition to your Outlander library. I will read mine more than once.

  • Enjoy seeing the great characters of OUTLANDER in living color.

If you've read and loved the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, you should enjoy this graphic (illustrated) book that covers some of the action in the first book. It's interesting to see the artist's vision, influenced by the author, of what the characters look like. Some looked younger than I imagined and sometimes it's hard to tell who is who...how different can warriors with long hair who are wearing kilts look? I would love to see a GOOD movie of this book, but since that may never happen, this graphic novel is fun to own. BUY IT!

  • Comic book style writing

Book was not what I expected and I was disappointed. Love the author and her other books but this was not one that I would buy again. Pictures were good but I am just not into "comic book" stories.

  • Enjoyable read

Good read, it is interesting story. I have already read the books so it was "known" to me. But it is interesting to see Jamie's side of story. Being interested in period fashion I am bugging over the female fashion in the book. The ladies wear clothes that looks very far from the going fashion in 18th century, the stays they wore (which has a plot) looks nothing like the stays that people wore. But I think it is just me. Other than that it is an enjoyable story and the artwork is well drawn. Other down side to it is that it is so short! At least when you compare with the original books. I want to read more!
