Platinum and Gold- Joni James
I've always liked Joni James music. Disc One of this album set is the absolute best. There's noone in the world who can, before or since, caress the words of a ballad the way that Joni can. The plaintive, wistful, little girl quality of her voice, just wrings the emotion out of you. A lot of it has to do with the songs. All of her million seller ballads were meant for her alone, and check it out, no one else recorded them. Who else could record "Why Don't You Believe Me?", "Have You Heard?" and "How Important Can It Be?" Or my personal favorite "Wishing Ring" It's said that Joni picked them all out. She did Good! At least I can't wear out the grooves on a CD. That said, some songs are just not for her, and disc 2 proves the point. Aside from a few that maybe will sound better with ... THe music quality is outstanding, Most of Joni's is wonderful, i have a 20 yr girl that works with me, she also loves the music, Thank you for opprotunity purchase quality music for home use.I've had exceptional service from you, I've met a 20 yr old that wan't most all of the music for her home. I will continue to collect other recordsand record them on cd disc the county has.i appricite, the books and such, an I plan on collecting all the videos. Joni James CD "The MGM Years"
This is a very complete selection/collection of Joni's great songs. Her voice is beyond compare as she seems to blend happiness and voice through her reditions. Wish she would decide to record some of the old standards of the big band days. She was every boy's girlfriend in the 50's when I was in high school. The lyrics seem to continue running through memory like a relaxing daydream. Sadly, the shipper did not package this well, and the outside case was cracked across Joni's face.This is a very complete selection/collection of Joni's great songs. my mom & dad just loved joni james growing up they wood play her records all the time the records got lost over the years finding this cd was a good find it broth me back to a time when i was young and rembering the enjoyment joni james gave to mom &dad dad is no longer with us but giving this to mom AS A GIFT BROTH A SMILE TO HER FACE AND A JOYFULL SOUND TO HER EARS REMBERING THE GOLDEN YEARS OF LONG AGO THANK YOUmy mom & dad just loved joni james growing up they wood play her records all the time the records got lost over the years finding this cd was a good find it broth me back to a time when i was young and rembering the enjoyment joni james gave to mom &dad dad is no longer with us but giving this to mom AS A GIFT BROTH A SMILE TO HER FACE AND A JOYFULL SOUND TO HER EARS REMBERING THE GOLDEN YEARS OF LONG AGO THANK YOU

My mom always listened to records and this was one of her favorites. After many years of playing the record it really sounded bad. We got her a CD player and now are trying to find her old records. This seller was a great find. The CD sounds great and Mom's VERY HAPPY.
