It does function when plugged in. Other than that I have not used it to start an engine at this point. I bought it to utilize it on my engines that have pull cords after I have modified them to accept the drive that this unit provides. I have 2 grass trimmers and a chainsaw that I am no longer able to start due to my right shoulder not up to pulling the cords. It would be better to review this after the modifications but someone is in a hurry to get this review and this is the best I can do at the time.It does function when plugged in. Got it goin' with less effort.
Saved me a lot of agrevation and it kept my trimmer out of the dumpster(LOL) Changed gas and changed plug. Funny...it started weeks earlier with only a few pulls. Later no go. Had other trimmers but be ware the cheaper you pay the less quaity. One thing to look for and check is comprssion. Had several small engine powered equip. and no start and checked comp. and problem solved.
