The product was received in a timely manner, carefully packaged, and in wonderful condition. My Sansui SE-88 vintage equalizer exceeded my expectations. It is an excellent addition to my vintage Sansui system. Given the proven Sansui quality, I expect to enjoy it for many years to come. I thank the seller, lovely241, for the outstanding service and cordial communication. Respectful greetings from California to Japan. Thank you very much!!!

    Great Ease

I have purchased this and a DSI Tempest. While the Tempest is king of all drum machines. (If you own one, you understand that sentiment) this Roland TR-8 is... well... first and foremost it's a Roland. That said, it is the easiest machine to use. While some deeper commands are more difficult (since the manual is next to nothing) the path to great sounding beats is possibly the easiest one I've known. Not just because it's easy to do, but it's awesome sound combined with the ease of use, makes this the one to plug in and GO!

  • Favorite Roland Emulation

The Roland TR-8 with 7X7 expansion is one of the greatest drum machines ever crafted. It is astoundingly hands on. Programming is of the standard TR variety but you can record in notes in real-time as well. I use it both ways for different purposes and it’s just fun to use. I have A/Bed this against a real TR-909 and I CANNOT tell the difference. I even had a real 909 at one point and honestly I prefer the TR-8. It’s so wonderfully customizable and with the 7X7 expansion you get all the great sounds of the 606, 707, 727, 808, & 909 as well as a few souped up 808 & 909 sounds. Everything sounds spot on and being able to have sounds from all different different machines in one kit is absolutely the sound of the future. Having control of pitch and decay for every drum sound is so welcome and ...

  • New classic. Solid backbone drum machine

This is the second time around for me. I bought this awhile back and love it then. Thought I didn't really want it so I sold. Then realized it's a solid backbone. Bought it again and not disappointed. By itself it's a good drum machine, layered with samplers takes it to another level. Even with the 7X7 add on kit, it's pretty no frills sonically, but it's playability is awesome. I also use to sequence other drum samplers as well all the incredible functions in a DAW (Ableton). If you use USB with a DAW you have access to all individual outs. I do love it.

  • Good Alternate to expensive and rare vintage TR machines

Roland did a good job at recreating the classic TR-808 and 909 for someone who cant afford to buy the originals from the 80s. Before I would have to try and set up drum sounds in a DAW and often I'd forget or loose interest by the time I got it all set up since trying to make music is a sort of 'third hobby' for me. TR-8 is a quick and easy device to set up and play, plus lots of hidden functions/easter eggs. Although slightly disappointing with the touted 'scatter' function, maybe its appealing to some, but to me it just turns the drum track into a noisy racket.

  • TR-8 is awesome

The drive arrived in non original packaging but hat wasn’t an issue - the device also had the 7x7 upgrade which was an added bonus!
