Tremendous Time Saver Mounting Cymbals
Setting up 4 cymbals takes approximately 15-20 seconds total: Lift cymbal out of case - turn - squeeze and lift wing nut - set cymbal - squeeze and set wing nut - repeat. It took me way longer to type that then it does to perform it. I have 20 cymbals (across 3 drum sets) and these are on all of the holders. I purchased these because at my last gig, I gave some away to a drummer friend. I love these things and highly recommend. They only miniscule thing I can think to make these (visually) better is that they come in colors vice red/black only. I have a red and black vintage set and these look awesome. Protect those pie-holes!
Can't tell you how many times I've been in a studio or sat behind a house drum kit where there are no cymbal sleeves to protect the cymbal's mounting hole. The nice thing about the Tama version is the ability to flip it when one side wears out. It is like getting two sleeves for the price of one. A small price to pay to protect your very expensive cymbals. It doesn't take long for a steel tilter rod to cut into the softer brass/ bronze of a beloved cymbal. Once the key-holing begins- the cymbal never sits right on the stand and the resale goes down considerably. Easy on - Easy off
Why didn't someone think of this before. Makes setting cymbals a breeze while knowing it's secure. Setup and breakdown is quicker with these 'pinch-release' assembly. Just another great product from Tama. My hopes is that it will last as long as it's known hardware.
