    I own the Schrade SS105 (larger version) of the knife.

    This is an old standby that has been around since the late 19th century. I owned the Sabre (Japanese) Melon Tester in this size back in 1968. (I was 13 years old at the time). These newer knives are made with rust-resistant 3Cr13Mov Stainless Steel spear point blades. I can attest to the fact that they take, and hold, a decent edge. I like these knives because as a lad I routinely lent my mother one the size of the SS102 to spread mayonnaise and cut sandwiches on long family road trips. (Those were the days). These knives also make great pocket knives that can slip into a shirt or back pocket. (Make certain that you don't sit directly upon the knife and break the composite handle or bend the brass liners or blade).
