    Works, but not a well as I had hoped.

    I currently have a Shakespeare Galaxy 5248 Marine Wi-Fi on the roof of my RV connected to a repeater. In my RV area it connects to my home router with 87-91% signal strength, but, I have to climb up on the roof to raise/lower it, and I want to stop having to do that. This low profile antenna would preclude me having to do any climbing and I was hoping it would work as well as the dipole, as it only has 6dBi gain and this is supposed to have 12dBi, but no matter how I mount it I only get a 78-83% signal in exactly the same spot, so a signal drop of 4% at the very best and over 08% average and at the worst 13%. This was rebooting the repeater and re-scanning for signals. Does this work, short answer, yes it does, is it 14dBi gain, I doubt it if it can't out perform a 6dBi 24" dipole.
