The problem I believe is with the courier used, which has used Every excuse under the sun. The communication from the seller dried up after a few messages, but at least the refund was swift from ebay. Apparently the item was being sorted for delivery at my local depot 5 days ago (with no further update). Seller should reconsider who they send this item with in the future to avoid a repeat of this abysmal service.
