I must admit I was hesitant about purchasing from a Japan seller. The seller re-assured me about their business and how things worked, with customs and such. The camera arrived here in my hands in 4 days, exactly as described, with no customs problems. Some items from the next state over take longer. Marvelous experience and will not hesitate again. Seller is A+++++ all around.

    All rounder lense

I am very pleased with this lense. I mage is sharp enough, you get a wide range of focal length, specially that 16mm which is very useful for indors, tight spaces and landscape. Not Quite a fast lense though.. knowing your light and a good flash is of great help. Overall, nice color, good sharpness across the range, and the flexibility to go from 16-300mm in a single lense.... love it.

  • Top critical review

Early firmware incompatible with some cameras.

Bought it for Canon 80d and early models firmware causes camera freeze if LiveView or Video is used. So lens is useless for me. Tamron doesn't offer easy worldwide updates for that. VERY dissapointed with Tamron policies with their faulty firmware. www tamron co jp/en/news/release_2016/0406

  • What a good deal so far

Works just fine so far after a few months in the filed. Great price and lens for the money. The only slight drawback is the lens is a little slow at time to focus but you get a hell of a focal range out of it. There is little distortion at both extreme ends but nothing outrages or you do what I do is to back off just a touch and its fine Would buy again.

  • So worth it!

I'm a total amateur photographer, I've never even so much as taken a class, but this lens makes shooting far away objects a no-brainer. The zoom level is amazing, working with it in auto mode is very easy. Sorry I can't give a photographer level review, but from my truly amateur perspective, I'm in love with this lens!

  • Go-to Lens for sports

Not too heavy to become my everyday lens, replacing a 18-70 mm Tamron. I still keep that one on my backup camera, but I've switched to the 16-300mm for my main camera. Auto Focus seems reliable, only switched to MF a couple of times. My use is primarily for sports journalism with occasional use in general news for a weekly newspaper. I usually take upwards of 1000 frames during a regular week, more if there are more games going on. The real test will be when football season arrives, with lower light levels at night and uneven stadium lighting.
