You can't go wrong with this!

There's a reason everyone's given this a universal 5 star review. It's affordable, it works GREAT and it's very well made and well designed. If you work on your own car and it's Japanese, don't kid yourself into thinking your Phillips head is going to do anything but put you in a jam by stripping the heads out. I beat up on my rotor retainment screws the last time but never replaced them so they were kind of a mess when I went to take them out this time. I got this here for $15 and it came in two days. A little penetrant and POP - the screws came right out. You can't possibly go wrong with this (except if you buy the wrong size.) If you're working on Japanese cars, trucks and motorcycles a lot you should get the three piece JIS (Japanse Industrial Standard) set. BTW, if you buy from (the ...

  • Works as advertised...

I bought this screwdriver to remove some stubborn screws on the engine cases of my vintage Suzuki motorcycle, on the advice of several members of the Suzuki forum that I belong to. In the process of inquiring, I learned that Japanese screws that look like Phillips head screws actually are NOT Phillips head screws; they are JIS screws (and are identified by a small dimple on the head). This explains why so many of the screws on Japanese bikes get rounded out by people who try to use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove them; there are some fairly significant design differences between the two types. If you buy this type of screwdriver, you'll need a small sledge hammer to go with it; my large claw hammer wasn't heavy enough to get the job done. If you're roundng out the screws on your ...

  • If you work on Japanese motorcycles or other vehicles, you need this.

JIS= Japanese Industrial Standard. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING AS PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER. JIS heads do not cam out like Phillips heads do. Ever wonder why the screw heads are always boogered up on motorcycles? It's because someone used a Phillips head screwdriver on a JIS screw head. Do yourself a huge favor and get a set of Vessel JIS screwdrivers. They work insanely well with the JIS hardware and they work better on Phillips head hardware than actual Phillips screwdrivers do. This Vessel Impacta even has a impact feature that lets you hit it with a hammer and the screwdriver will rotate the bit to the left a few degrees. This comes in very handy when working on old hardware that may have corroded a bit and is stuck (old carburetor screws.) I can't say enough good things about ...

  • Tough and good quality. Good enough on the easier jobs, but may not be great on the impossible jobs.

I bought this Impact Screwdriver to remove the clutch cover screws from a 75 Suzuki GT750. These screws had welded themselves into the case. I went at them with PB Catalyst, WD-40, an electric heat gun, a 3 LB hammer, and this impact screwdriver. After 10+ hours over three weeks the results were nil. But considering the beating this driver took and the fact that nether the tip, its functioning, nor the screwheads got messed up that says a lot about the quality. Thing is maybe 12 degrees of twist just not be enough. I switched to a propane torch and a craftsman impact driver which worked better but messed up a couple screwheads and got 7 of 10 out. But they're toast.
