    The key housing to the 2005 Toyota Scion fit perfect. I wish we were given a warning to ensure we harvested the small transponder chip that is glued into the original plastic housing. We had thrown that away not knowing this is what will allow the key to work in the car. The car wouldn't start. We had a friend tell us about this tiny chip (see photo). We dug it out of the trash, carefully peeled back the plastic with pliers, inserted it into the new housing, and it worked perfect! Very pleased.

    This was purchased for a 2006 Rav 4. I just put it together and it kinda works but the Lock Button keeps getting stuck. the rubber insert to hit the Lock Key doesn't work all the time. So I have to press it several times for it to click. It's kind of annoying but I have no choice since the original shell is falling apart. It's better than nothing but not an exact quality match.

    Securely holds the OEM remote blade.

    It comes with no instructions. It was difficult to remove the transponder chip from the original key but no problem fitting the transponder into this new case. The case did not close without squeezing it together with a pair of pliers. It seems to securely hold the blade from the original key and works great.

    Does not work

    A chipped key requires a battery to touch it in some way so a signal can be sent to the ignition computer to start the car. The design of the shell case does not allow for the computer chip with battery to make contact to the chip key. It may work for you but neither of the two I purchased allowed my already programed key to work.
