I was impressed how quickly the bulbs achieved luminescence after the alternating current electrical flow was applied. (I did not have the opportunity to test if the bulbs worked with direct current. Mr. Tesla did not return my calls.) The gentle yellow hue illuminates my back porch with a calming glow. Attracting more bugs than the soft white LEDs I have outside
I have three of the same light fixtures outside: one on the front porch and two in front of the garage. I installed two Cree Soft White (2700K) A19 LED bulbs in front of the garage, and this TCP LED yellow bulb on the front porch. Over a two week period here in northern Colorado, I observed virtually no bugs around the Cree soft white LED bulbs, but many flying within a few inches around the TCP yellow bug light both inside and outside the (open at the bottom) light fixture. These results were definitely a surprise to me as I understand that in theory, bugs should be more attracted to the whiter (actually bluer) light. The yellow LED bulb definitely looks worse when it's on too. It really stands out in the neighborhood. Based off a couple photos I saw on the Internet, I did not ... Excellent bug light
It seems this was the best bug light that I have found and used. It keep those pest bug away while enjoying the night air. Excellent product and seem to be made from good quality materials. Time will tell on the use of electric and how long it will last?

LEDs: the future is here
Only a few years ago, we raced to replace our incandescents with fluorescents, then waited for them to warm up and brighten. LED lights are more responsive, just as bright and cut energy use even more. Prices on LED lights are coming down as they become more popular. Shop around for the best price. Your LED options are expanding!
