    Ten year-old dog walker Owen (Liam Aiken) takes a trip to the pound and picks out an adorable, pensive mutt he decides to call "Hubble." What Liam doesn't know is that Hubble has just arrived from Sirius (The Dog Star) for the purpose of checking up on the canine colonization that began thousands of years ago. A trip to Hubble's crashed spacecraft allows Liam to hear his new pal's voice (Matthew Broderick), along with those of the five dogs he routinely walks: robust Boxer Wilson (Donald Faison), jittery Italian Greyhound Nelly (Brittany Murphy), flatulent Burmese Mountain Dog Shep (Carl Reiner), and high-maintenance Poodle Barbara Ann (Delta Burke). Hubble is greatly troubled to discover that his kind have become pets on Earth, a fact that he is rather nervous to have to report to his leader, the Greater Dane (voiced by Vanessa Redgrave)--who will be arriving on Earth very shortly to check up on the colonization.A family film that provides ample amusement for dog lovers of any age, GOOD BOY is as close as anyone will get to hearing man's best friend talk. The illusion was skillfully created by the reliable Jim Henson Creature Shop, and young Aiken's performance makes the illusion all the more believable. The vocal talents of Broderick, Murphy, Faison, Reiner, and Burke give distinct personalities to their characters, with each getting their own moment to shine.

      Great kids' movie. My granddaughters really enjoyed it.

      This is a sweet movie about a boy who has a dog-walking business and the discovery he makes about the dogs he walks. Very gentle, child-safe movie with no bad language or real violence.

      Good Boy - great for kids and grandparents!!

      I bought this movie because my ten year old grandson saw a preview and had to see it. This is the way we buy a great many movies at our house but this time we had a winner. The human lead was played by a super young actor (whose name eludes me) and Hubbel, the canine lead, carried his role very well also. You will enjoy trying to figure our which actors play the Greater Dane, her prime minister, etc.

      Great, all time favorite movie, we just love it! One of the best family movies for children and adults. Good Boy! is a 2003 comedy film, directed by John Robert Hoffman and produced by Jim Henson Pictures, released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and starring 7 talking dogs. The film stars Liam Aiken as Owen Baker, as well as the voices of Matthew Broderick, Delta Burke, Donald Faison, Brittany Murphy, Carl Reiner, Vanessa Redgrave, and Cheech Marin as the abundant dog characters in the movie. The film was based on the book Dogs from Outer Space by Zeke Richardson. John Hoffman and Richardson collaborated on the screen story, while Hoffman wrote the screenplay.

      Cute, Funny, and Sweet! Not just a kid's movie!

      I bought the movie originally at the recommendation of my Dog Club just because a Bernese Mountain Dog features very prominently in the movie. Well, the movie was much more than that. It had some great moments that any animal lover would want to see. Yes, there were some cheesy moments, but its a kid's movie, you can't expect much else. Its well worth the time invested to watch this cute and inspiring movie! There is definitely something for everyone and good for family viewing!
