      Essential for film students since Hollywood is rerunning this era now

      Good documentary about the important filmmaking period 1966-1980, when independent cinema and low budget filmmaking transformed Hollywood from the excesses of Paint Your Wagon and Star to The Godfather, Jaws, and Star Wars. Essential for film students or for those who would like to enter the entertainment industry during a similar down period, which it is experiencing today -- and for mostly the same reasons (profligacy, obsession with pre-sold IP, and fiscal irresponsibility). All of the previous renaissances in Hollywood have started from these challenges to the status quo.
