Product Information

The first retail release from MTV Games, Rock Band is a musical instrument and singing simulation, in the style of Guitar Hero and Karaoke Revolution. The game lives up to its name by supporting the quintessential rock quartet: guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. To play along with the game's songs, special guitar, drum kit, and microphone controllers are required. These are available separately, or together in the Rock Band: Special Edition package. The game's main mode of play casts one to four gamers as members of an up-and-coming band, and challenges them to perform increasingly sophisticated songs as they play to larger and larger virtual crowds.<br><br>As in earlier games developed by Harmonix (Frequency, Amplitude, Guitar Hero), Rock Band challenges players to hit specified controller buttons in time with music. Guitarists and drummers follow color-coded musical notes that scroll toward the front of the screen. To successfully "play" the notes, players must hit the correspondingly colored fret button or drumhead on their controllers. Virtual lead singers belt it out on the game's microphone accessory, and their timing and tone can be analyzed for accuracy (as in the Harmonix-developed Karaoke Revolution).<br><br>Released half a year after the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions, Rock Band for Wii includes five more songs, for a total of 63, but does not support downloadable song packs or online play.

Came with slightly more then what they'd described, was not expecting the menu which was a pleasant surprise. It was super well packed with a very secure bubble wrap and tape job. Maybe overkill, but that is definitely preferable to not doing enough so I'm not complaining at all. Saving the seller to buy from again.

The game I purchased was packaged well, arrived on time, and functioned fine. There was a professional looking thank you card inside of the case which added a nice touch, however, the text on the card was somewhat grammatically awkward. There was a hand written message on the other side of the card which offered a refund, because the cover art for the game case was not in perfect condition, and its blemishes were not posted on the item description. it shows good communication and accountability,

    Wii Rock Band ROCKS! Great Rock Songs!

    We love this game! We bought Wii Rock Band 2 first, then added this Rock Band (game only) for more songs to choose from. It has some awesome songs! We don&apos;t like the way you have to play EVERY song in order to unlock other songs. But it doesn&apos;t take long to unlock the 63 songs that are included! Not a big deal! Also, we wish we could use the Guitar Hero guitar with Rock Band like you can with Rock Band 2. Other than those two features we love it! Otherwise, I would have rated it 5 vs 4! It is AWESOME! Our whole family loves it. My son plays the guitar, my husband plays the drums and myself on vocals! We have a blast! It&apos;s a great way to spend some family time together. We highly recommend it to all!

    Rockin The Rock Band with Awesome Tracks To Jam Out!

    All the fun of Karioki without splitting your ears. Anytime friends visit, Rock Band is a must. Everyone wants to play it. I was afraid the singing part would sour it, but they&apos;ve done an excellent job. Not only does having the vocal track backing you up _really_ help, the pitch feedback and scoring actually gets people (thankfully) trying to sing on key. The guitars are super fun as anyone that&apos;s played Guitar Hero will attest to. The drums are killer. Practice mode sold me on it. You can slow each song down and they&apos;re sorted by difficulty. This makes learning much easier. It&apos;s insanely fun.

    First edition, less features, great purchase.

    Originally purchased Rockband 2 from retail. I have never had the first game. Lots of great songs but you can tell it&apos;s the first attempt at the game. Mot as many features as the later editions but this is expected. They only get better as they make more. I purchased this game because the songs on this CD cannot be downloaded from the website. Still a great purchase.
