This external hard drive is extremely easy to use and has a huge capacity. The file transfer speed is adequate for backing files up but it would be nice if there were multiple ways to connect to it. Firewire would certainly make it more feasible to store your media on it. Overall this hard drive is a good value for the money and I would recommend it to anyone looking for affordable storage options.This external hard drive is extremely easy to use and has a huge capacity. Fast slick powerful machine!
It was affordable, slick, glossy and its very fast when transferring information no matter the size of the folders. I'm using it to hold all my old folders from my old laptop and instead of transferring them to my new one, i'll just hold them there there saving more memory on my new laptop. Only downside to this product is that it is heavy and needs to be connected to an outlet in order to get power instead of just powering off the laptop/desktop. Very good product to continue purchasing.
I love the form factor of this product because I have another one already and they go great together side-by-side. I will probably continue to buy this product because its a great way to save space and have a clean looking digital storage system. I didn't rate it as excellent because my first one was the next model up with Firewire and eSata, and this one only had USB. The price was right though, but the flexiblity to have other transfer options is always nice.I love the form factor of this product because I have another one already and they go great together side-by-side. This particular unit has lots of hard drive space. However this unit must be plugged into receptical power (110v). This works for me, since I use it at my home office desk. This external hard drive 7,200 rpm unit has a much faster data transfer than the lower speed hard drive units that are power from a laptop battery. I downloaded the latest software from Western Digital which makes the data transfer speeds 3x to 5x times faster. My son tells me that I should have bought one that uses power from the laptop through the USB connection, because it is portable and much smaller in size.This particular unit has lots of hard drive space. great hard drive so far amazing price
bought the hard drive two weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive hard drive. It has a 650gb capacity. The hard drive is noy too big like some of the comp. My only complaint is that i couldn't buy more of them.i really need a couple of terrabytes but we're not all able i guess. Other hard drives i have had don't seem to be made as well and the others always seem to have mac driver issues.
