  • It's just impossible not to like Lois Bujold

I was replacing my paperback of this book and it just sat there......winking at me, saying "you KNOW you want to read me again". So I had to read it again....but wait! Out of sequence? Okay, I'll read all the Vorkosigan books by Lois McMaster Bujold again. Since you twisted my arm. This is one of the greatest series in science fiction and if you haven't read it, I envy you. I wish I could read it for the first time again. Most series get stale after a while, but this one ...just....keeps...getting...better. To start this series is to get addicted. It's as good as it gets. The first book in the series is "Shards of Honor" and it's a wonderful story....but the hero of the rest of the series isn't in it; his mother is. In fact, Miles isn't born until the third book. Then "forward ...

  • Miles meets his "self"

This is a nice continued story point in the series of Miles Vorkosigan. Here is given the story of Mark, and how and why 'he' wants Miles dead. I like the writers style on this series and have found myself getting ALL the books. This one gives a new Prince and Pauper twist. Not to say it is the same story but you have the 'have' and 'have not' idea going on in it. Fun to read, I think the end is a real reason for a good laugh, what would anyone really do with their look alike twin after they try to kill you? Surprisingly better 'end' than most would have given this question....
