  • i never get tired of this book

this is a cinderella story. and it makes the other storys and movies make sence. you may always ask why cinderella obeyed her mother...she didnt have to be a sevent...well in this story you see how she had no choice.Ella is under a spell. she must obey any direct order given to her, like Ella, go get my coat. she would have to but if it were somthing like Ella, would you please go get my coat? she would be able to say no. this book is nothing like the movie, its sooo much better. in the movie you see that the spell just clicks in her mind and she has to do it no, she trys to delay her obedience in hoping to break the spell but then she gets complaints like shortness of breath and dissieness....youll understnad once youve read it. it is a childrens story and im 16 but ill never get tired of ...

  • Wonderful book

My wife read this as a young teen and has enjoyed reading it again to our daughter. This is a wonderful book that, as a parent-child read, opens up a wonderful world of reading to children.

  • Great, inventive retelling of a classic fairy tale

If you've not discovered Gail Carson Levine, you've been missing out. This book is great for young adults and the young of heart. Ella Enchanted is a great retelling of Cinderella. Once you begin, you won't want to put the book down until you've finished. Levine uses many inventive literary devices to advance the story and character development. Very imaginative.

  • Ella Enchanted

I bought this paperback for a good friend of mine who was expecting a baby whom she plan to name "Ella". I was familiar with the book because it was a Georgia Book Award winner several years ago. She was amused and happy with the book because she knows how much I love to read, and how I wanted Ella to become a reader. I was very pleased with the condition of the book, which was very gently worn.

  • Favorite

I'm an avid reader, but only in thanks to this book. I picked it up in the fourth grade and it is the first real book that I had ever really enjoyed. Before "Ella Enchanted" reading wasn't a passion, but because of this book - it is now. It's incredibly well written, it's smart, it's funny, it's romantic, and it has a kiss of tragedy that makes it hard to put down. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a break from the mundane. Great read for little ones.
