A madcap caper with an all-star cast, this boisterous and surprisingly touching independent comedy features Peter Fonda (EASY RIDER, ULEE'S GOLD) and Kris Kristofferson (THE JACKET, BLADE: TRINITY) as a pair of hard-nosed sheep farmers from the North Dakota Badlands. When Stoney (Fonda) falls ill, he is lured back to Minneapolis for treatment by his estranged daughter Kate (Robin Dearden), who encourages him to reestablish a relationship with his grandson Charles (Joe Mazzello, RADIO FLYER, JURASSIC PARK). When Shuck (Kristofferson) realizes his partner is in the hospital, he makes for the city in order to help him break out; their daring escape entangles Charles, who ends up coming along for the ride against his will. Charles is a wisecracking city kid obsessed with computers, and is entirely ill at ease with his grandfather's lifestyle, a situation that is further aggravated by the fact that the trio is now wanted for a host of criminal activities. With Sheriff Hank Dawson (Keith Carradine, HAIR HIGH) in close pursuit, the outlaws make for the ranch, and Charles discovers his roots as well as his lost childhood along the way.

DARN GOOD MOVIE
A met a man that told me I should buy this movie because it was a 'darn good all around good movie' that the whole family could enjoy. I bought it on his say so and I'm glad I did. This is one of those movies you can watch again and again. There is a great message in it. I don't like movies with cussing in them, but there wasn't as much cussing in this movie compared to the others out there. My husband also enjoyed it and he is pretty hard to please at times. I LOVE this movie - have watched it at least a dozen times. Peter Fonda and Kris Kristofferson make a good team. They are very funny at times, sometimes even when they are serious.

I saw part of this movie on a tour that we took and wanted to see it entirely. It is a very, very good movie, full of laughs, but also some language and sadness. It did basically keep us in stitches from laughing though. It has a good message about family too. Would recommend to anyone with children at the age of 10 or 12 or older. Especially if everyone likes homebased movies as this takes place in North Dakota and with some parts in Minnesota.I saw part of this movie on a tour that we took and wanted to see it entirely. I thought my Daughter's boyfriend would like this DVD so I bought it for him. Since it was a used DVD, even thought this is not the type movie I usually enjoy, I watched it before giving it to him to make sure it worked, so I could give appropriate feedback to the seller. This Movie was so good! Funny, sad, and enjoyable. The actors did an excellent job. I'm so glad I bought it for him.
