Brackets appear to be powder coated steel, rather than aluminum, which would be preferred for use in saltwater. Says fasteners are stainless steel. However, I'm guessing the u-bolts are steel, but not sure. However, these can be protected by several undercoatings for saltwater use. Ends have black plastic inserts which I was glad to see. Not sure what the welded aluminum tabs are for though.

The u-bolts are only 2-1/2" wide so no way they fit a 3"wide trailer frame. This was not a problem for me since I just drilled the trailer and bolted directly to it, but it was extra work that I hadn't counted on. Otherwise, the product looks good.
