Based on the hit Disney television show, HANNAH MONTANA/MILEY CYRUS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS CONCERT TOUR 3-D provides dedicated fans an all-access pass to the Best of Both Worlds concert tour. Leaving behind character Miley Stewart, the concert instead splits time between pop phenom Hannah Montana and Cyrus, who assumes the role of Montana's "ordinary girl" alter ego. Footage of the concert is interspersed with numerous behind-the-scene vignettes. Among these are pre-tour rehearsals--orchestrated by HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL impresario Kenny Ortega--and a touching jam session with father Billy Ray Cyrus. Also included are ecstatic fan testimonials and the film's most humorous moment, in which fathers race each other in high-heeled shoes for the chance to win concert tickets and backstage passes. Montana/Cyrus is joined on stage by the Jonas Brothers, who whip up the crowd with their own brand of high-energy pop. The film employs most of its 3-D tricks in the opening credits then pulls back the reins to focus on giving viewers the next best thing to actually being at the show. A very enjoyable concert.
After all the Heavy metal and hard rock concert dvds and blurays, I was wondering why I decided to buy this one. I must say that it is a wonderful video to see & HEAR!Razor sharp images and well balanced audio put me into the arena. For those that like the geeky side, it is fun watching the lumna crane and the steady-cams all over the place. As for the 3D option, it was as bad as any other 2 color paper glasses dvd. But the 2D version is a total joy to watch! I let my grand daughter (6 years old)watch it and she danced to the songs throughout! The concert is interlaced with practice footage and other behind the scene shots. It makes the artist seem more like a close friend. How can anyone watch this and not be thinking- give it ten more years and she'll be shaving her head? I hope with all my heart that it won't come to pass, but this overproduced and overblown effort to create stardom for the sake of stardom is mind-blowing. Miley has a pleasant enough voice, but all the bells and whistles (and pyrotechnics and massive financial expenditures) are definitely putting the cart before the horse- she hasn't risen to stardom, she has been shoved up there by folks seeking the all-mighty dollar. And the few moments showing Miley's mother are downright eerie- she's focused on the girl as if it is a life or death event, not an entertainment production. No smiles, no enjoying the music- she looks like a cat watching a canary in a cage. When interviewed, she seems to ... On a similar note, check out USER ID delanestanley and his/her review of this dvd. This same individual has sent me repeated unwelcome and bluntly offensive emails regarding my review of this dvd. Despite the criticism (and expletives), my opinion still stands. Also, look at this individuals feedback or, more to the point, the items for which he/she has received feedback for....note the rather UNHEALTHY OBSESSION with Miley Cyrus in the form of OVERLY revealing photographs that he/she has purchased....and I don't mean autographed studio head shots either.

Definitely the Best of Both Worlds
I loved this concert! The audio and video quality is sensational. The choreograpy rivals Broadway. Both Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus really strut her stuff in a family friendly way. It is no wonder her concerts sell out in one day. However there were a few minor disappointments. The 3D gimic is interesting but though the 3D effect is obvious the washing out of the natural colors is even more obvious. But what can you expect with funky 3D green and red glasses. I also had hoped that there would have been at least one duet with her father Billy Ray but instead it is only a cameo. I also thought it was pushing Disney's gay friendly agenda when a video of a "fathers racing in high heels contest" was momentarily featured. My advice is do not miss out on this concert! GREAT TIME SPENT WITH ALL 3 OF OUR SONS! WE LOVE HER FUNNY SHOW too! Luv all HER SONGS CDS & SING OUR HEARTS OFF WITH HER often! We cant believe how she is making the world a BETTER PLACE ALL ROUND FOR JUST A FUN GOOFY 16 NOW....OLD HUMAN BEING! NO SHE ANIT A RoLE MODEL....THATS what KIDS HAVE PARENTS FOR.....she is just a kid.... Id LOVE TO THINK Id be the ROLE MODEL OF MY SONs NOT SOME DISNEY WRITTEN CHARACTER...... MILEY CYRUS IS SUCH A HARD WORKING KID.....MANY COULD LEARN A LESSON FROM THAT ALONE.....U WORK FOR WHAT U GET OR WOULD LIKE TO HAVE!
