They looked as if they were going to be too narrow. However, they were perfect. The leather was very soft out of the box. These boots have a wide tongue so there is a lot of leather there. This gives you more space to slip on the boots but that makes them a little harder to lace up tight. If you take the time to tuck the tongue under the laces it works much better.
