    BOSS RC-30

It's not the biggest or best looper available but it's quite capable. It fits a perfect nitch where your not needing a massive looper for gigging, but the single pedal looper are just not cutting it. All in all it's a decent go between. The built in effects are a but cheezy, and the drum tracks are a bit simplistic but do serve well in providing more then say just a metronome. It'll take a minute or two to familiar yourself with how everything works, but once you understand how it works. It's a great tool for writing songs, practicing leads, and learning to keep better timing. Though it's not my best looper, I do own three RC-30's. I keep one on all my pedal boards as they are perfect for a quick loop.

  • This thing makes even me sound good.

This creates infinite loops over one another, and has 3 hours of stereo storage which is incredible. Audio quality is good. It is very easy to use. It allows both saving created files via USB in a WAV format to your computer, and also downloading any WAV file off your computer onto the device. Th only major drawback is that there is no way to sync up a drum machine with this looper (no midi connection). The RC50 and RC300 both have the midi, but cost more than twice as much.

  • Stuck in the Middle With You..

Straight up: This pedal gives you two independent loops as well as guitar (quarter-inch) and mic (xlr) inputs. It's right in the middle of the red Boss looper units: the smaller one has guitar inputs and one loop, and the big one has all kinds of stuff. I play solo and duo acoustic, and prefer to do my looping live. This unit is okay for that, but find myself fiddling around on the floor with those little buttons and sliders when I should be selling drinks. You can store loops, both onboard and on memory cards, I kind of wish I had the patience to do that. You really need to read the manual, ugh...It sounds really good, a fair amount of learning curve, I find myself using my tc ditto pedal a lot more...

  • Easy to start looping, good features, nice for in home use

Loop is convenient and easy to use. Just be sure to buy an AC adapter off eBay and update the firmware off Boss's website to avoid delays between tracks (bios upgrade is online). This will let you overdub many times on the same tracks, and record separately on the 2 stereo tracks. If you want to actually make a song though, you are going to have to record separate tracks before you perform it live. Otherwise I can't see how you'd avoid delays. You also have to write the track by holding down the write button or it will be gone forever.

  • Decent, compact, robust features for the money.

I'm still pretty new with it, but it does everything I've asked of it. One thing I noticed (may be user error) is that attempting to change rhythm while a loop is active results in some kind of memory crash. ....But I didn't really buy it for running rhythm tracks.
