About this product

Product Information

Namco draws upon its most universally recognizable property in this Nintendo DS exclusive. The character that became an icon for the arcade heyday of the early '80s, Pac-Man gobbles his way onto the DS in a game designed to make good use of the handheld's most distinguishing feature. Pac-Pix is played on the lower touch screen, which is usually empty except for one or more ghosts. Players begin by drawing a picture of Pac Man himself. Assuming the rendition is reasonably accurate, it changes to a recognizable yellow color and starts moving forward. The goal is then to draw lines that lead the player's Pac-Man around the touch screen to chase and eat the ghosts. Proficient players can draw and control an additional Pac-Man, to double-team the fleeing ghosts. The number of Pac-Man characters that can be drawn is limited by the player's "ink supply," which is replenished by eating ghosts. The current level, time remaining, score, and other game-related information is displayed in the handheld's upper screen.

Came with slightly more then what they'd described, was not expecting the menu which was a pleasant surprise. It was super well packed with a very secure bubble wrap and tape job. Maybe overkill, but that is definitely preferable to not doing enough so I'm not complaining at all. Saving the seller to buy from again.

The game I purchased was packaged well, arrived on time, and functioned fine. There was a professional looking thank you card inside of the case which added a nice touch, however, the text on the card was somewhat grammatically awkward. There was a hand written message on the other side of the card which offered a refund, because the cover art for the game case was not in perfect condition, and its blemishes were not posted on the item description. it shows good communication and accountability,

  • If you like Kirby Canvas Curse, you'll like this...

The reviewer above just about described it well. It is kind of hard to draw at first but after a few tries, you get the hang of drawing pac man and get a kick out of watching your creation move and eat up the monsters. I'm onto level 10 book 1 and it's real hard. The bosses are somewhat hard as you get further into the game. Some of them I had to figure out how to beat them as they don't tell you what to do. It is a face paced game. If you liked Kirby Canvas Curse where you have to draw lines and use your stylus 100 percent of the time, you should like this game. I gave it 4 stars because while it was loads of fun, it can be very very frustrating at times. There were cases where I drew a line to stop pac man from going further, my line wasn't drawn. I had to hurry and draw another ...

  • Don't expect simple mazes in this brain stir-upper

Very nice game overall, but once you advance to higher levels it starts gettind difficult, although there are many similar levels that would make one feel like repeating, it is still a good game overall. You have to be fast, and with puzzles that are introduced in the upper levels and more difficult "books" it starts to be fun. Each world is identified as "books" and each level within worlds are pages and small levels. There are items you can earn like bombs or arrows. You can draw a bomb and draw the fuse and connect to nearby candle to blow up monsters, or you can draw an arrow and shoot at the monsters flying overhead. It is a good game, but young kids may get bored if they cannot draw the pacman well. Good addition to pacman family, but not like the original one.

  • Pac-Pix Nintendo DS

Pac-Pix for the Nintendo DS branches Pac-Man once again into unfamiliar territory. While the gameplay is initially appealing, due to it's unique use of the Stylus as its sole control scheme, it is this very unique quality that ultimately leads to the games downfall. Like Kirby's Canvas Curse, Pac-Pix is controlled entirely with the stylus. Unlike Pac-Pix, you actually draw Pac-Man into the game itself. The game takes your (usually embarrasingly shoddy) Pac-Man drawing and animates it, sending it across a blank page, munching up various monsters and ghosts. Again, like Kirby, you do not control Pac-Man directly, but instead draw lines on the screen that send him off in what ever direction you drew the line. Pac-Man can be drawn just about any size on the screen, but he moves much ...

  • Fun game

I liked this game after I kept at it for a while. It's a bit tricky to get your Pacman to go where you want him to at first, but it is quite simple once you get the hang of it; and it is also addictive; and you don't have to be a Picaso to draw a Pacman that works either! Mine always looked a little warped, but he still gobbled up ghosts and goodies! The graphics are cute and of course there is a story to it (just like Mario) and the pacman sound effects (waca waca waca) brought back good memories of when I had my first Atari system. Overall a fun game but I would buy one used (on ebay) instead of paying full price for it, simply because it becomes tedious after a while, but that is true of any game. I especially recommend this one for kids ages 8 to 11 (Hey, I'm 40 and I found it ...

  • ADDICTED!

This game is unlike any other Pacman game. It is VERY addicting for anyone that plays. Each levels adds something new. We bought the game because our son is a Pacman lover, so we had to make sure we have ALL the Pacman games. But this game is really fun to play, and really hard to stop playing.
