    one of the literary achievements of the the 20th century

    probably a book which will be read over and over. the very best of speculative fiction. stands right there with roger zelasny's lord of light. reviews from other and more apt critics of the genre have been out there for decades. my recommendation is simple - if you only read one book this year, this is the one. it's enough to make you weep!
