Taking place alongside events from the feature film of the same name, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 puts players in the role the famous web-slinger as he searches for his Uncle Ben's killer. A new heroism system was designed to reward players for thwarting crimes and helping citizens, while failing to do so will hurt Spider-Man's community standing. The third-person 3D action finds gamers using a mix of acrobatic combat maneuvers and web-shooting attacks, and players can once again explore an expansive open-world version of Manhattan, either on foot or by swinging through the skyline.<br> <br>The game finds Spider-Man interacting with a variety of villains from the film and comic series, each with specific boss battles, and portions of the action put gamers in the role of Peter Parker as he does detective work. Side quests involve new crimes like arson and hostage situations, new web attacks let Spider-Man freeze and explode items, and players can unlock new outfits that have unique upgradeable attributes. Vita owners can also play the game anywhere thanks to the PS4's remote play feature.

    Great game for hardcore Spider-Man fans

    I had fun with it, good game, not to today's standards or better than the first game it came after but good game for people who really love Spider-Man. If you're not one, stay clear of this game as it is something you will regret buying. As in the Spidey fans, here's a few things about the game such as the swinging (Web strike is also 10x better also as in traveling New York), combat is the same as the previous game, graphics look slightly better and the costumes are great.

    This game would be great if....

    It had come out with PS2. But for a PS4 game, it's not very good. Gameplay mechanics are clunky, controls are clunky. Story is mediocre. Graphics are mediocre.

    Great spiderman experience

    Don’t be wary of this game since it shares its name with the movie. Nothing against the films but film based games are usually shallow. However, the story is essentially original, and for the year it came out the game plays exceptionally well. I’d say it’s a must play for any Spidey fan.
